Compression Level
- 15-20 mm Hg is the perfect compression for the balance of efficiency and comfort. It is recommended to people who have to sit or stand for hours, long-haul travellers, and those wanting to have healthy and trim legs
- 20-30 mm Hg is an elevated level for treating varicose veins, pregnant women or mothers after giving birth, and people who are sitting or standing for long periods (e.g. greater than eight hours per day). Beware not to wear this level of compression if your have circulation problems or arterial diseases
There are certain physiological conditions which can be unsuitable for the wearing of compression wear
If you have been diagnosed with the conditions listed below, you should only wear compression wear on the advise of your doctor
- Swollen and painful legs caused by sickness or injuries
- Skin-sensitive or allergic feet
- Skin with open wounds in large area
- Cardiovascular disease except for varicose veins or venous disease
- Severe heart disease or high blood pressure patients
- Arterial insufficiency, edema when caused by heart disease or congestive heart failure
- Serious diabetics should wear compression wear only under doctors’ direction
- Blood capillary or peripheral nerve vascular lesions diseases
- Purulent and ulcer legs or eczematous skin diseases
- Chronic renal insufficiency
